The Gate House Niagara-on-the-Lake

Located in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake, The Gate House (known as Wilson’s Hotel in the late 1700’s) hosted the inaugural session of The Law Society of Upper Canada and was the meeting place for many of the town’s residents before and after the War of 1812.

Although most of the original building was destroyed by a fire in 1849, The Gate House showcases several aspects of the original building, including the beautifully restored original stone work throughout the dining room.

Opened in Spring 2019, we’ve partnered with 124 on Queen Hotel and Spa to make The Gate House the ideal spot in Niagara-on-the-Lake for your wedding, events or next dining experience in town. See below for more details on each:

Indoor/Outdoor Dining

Unfortunately, all dining (indoor and outdoor) at the Gate House Bistro is temporarily closed. However, Treadwell Cuisine has an enclosed terrace with heaters & blankets that is open with their regular Dinner, Lunch & Brunch Menus. Please go to the Treadwell Cuisine website for more information on their revised hours.
